The Hebrew word of the week is the infinitive lirot (לִרְאוֹת), meaning "to see," "to look at," "to consider," "to experience," "to understand," etc. The Hebrew root ra'ah (רָאָה) occurs over 1200 times in the Tanakh, first occuring in Genesis 1:4: "And God saw (וַיַּרְא) that the light was good." A derivative of this verb occurs in the second verse of Parashat Va'era:
